Big River has begun at the Olney Theatre Center! I am playing Miss Watson, Strange Woman, Joanna Wilkes and running around in the ensemble. Rumor has it we'll be wearing Converse sneakers - hooray for happy feet! Get your tickets now. Runs through July 27th, 2008.
Alas, the fall production of Sweeney Todd with Ganymede Arts is now canceled. Musical Theatre International "forgot" they were sending out a tour and yanked the rights. Considering the wonderful group of folks that were gathered to take it on, I'm hoping Ganymede can reacquire the rights soon.
In early May I also played Lori Gardner, the starring role in FICKLE FORTUNE, another 48-Hour Film project with my favorite group of cinemakers - Cavegirl Productions. It was a great weekend and a fabulous short film, if I do say so myself... I love the group of people who gather, sometimes only once a year, to make it happen. We are serious now when we say we're going to do some other film project for ourselves and make it a long one! If you'd like to play producer, just holler and write a check!
MODERN LOVE IS AUTOMATIC has finally wrapped at the end of February, and they have released a new trailer for the film. I played Dolores. Watch the trailer now (PG-13!), and check out the film's MySpace page.
BIG RIVER! Opens July 2nd! I will be playing multiple roles in Big River at Olney Theatre Center in MD. I'm not playing Huck or Jim, but I will play lots of others! Come see the downhome fun and lovely music along the Mississippi (in Olney)! It runs til either July 27, or if extended, August 2. "Loneliness callin' where you are tonight. And you oughta be here with me..."
SWEENEY TODD! I will then play the Beadle in Ganymede Arts' (formerly ATW) production of Sweeney Todd at Church St. Theatre in DC. Production dates aren't nailed down, but it looks like late September/early October opening. I adore Sondheim and can't wait to play the scheming dude. AND, since I'm playing a man (hm- this is a pattern with Ganymede/ATW for me!), I get to sit in the barber chair and receive a shave - how deliciously demonic. "Swing your razor wide, Sweeney..."

I played Essie Miller in Eugene O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness! with American Century Theatre in Arlington, VA. The show was directed by Bob Bartlett. See my Press section for our reviews!

I played Marigold in Odyssey
Productions' show, "The Hovering",
at
The Source Theatre in July, as part of the 2007
Capital Fringe Festival. See The Gallery for shots from the show!

I shot a commercial for Box Express - watch for
it on Comcast's
TNT channel during the NBA playoffs! I also recently voiced the
history montages for the American Institute of Architects'
(AIA) 139th Convention,
celebrating 150 years of architecture in America. See
my voiceover section to hear my work for this project.

I played Kimmie in Cavegirl Productions' fourth 48 Hour Film Project and fifth
film, FOURGE, shot the first weekend in May. Our genre this year was Buddy Film.
Take a look at the FOURGE
website and watch the film now!

Matchmaker's Guide To Controlling The Elements wrapped
shooting in May. I played Liz, the matchmaker. It's written by one of my favorite
playwrights/screenwriters, John
Morogiello. The film is produced by J.T. Burian Cinematicals. It's
always fun to command people to do things, especially wooing someone "with the
mating dance of the Caracan fruitbat..."
In February, I shot a training film for SpringHill Suites. I was an 'Irate Guest' along with a couple of clueless ones.
Also in February, I played Rose Hawthorne in a reading of Mercy Is My Dwelling Place. It's a play in development about Nathaniel Hawthorne's daughter, who is being considered for sainthood.
